George Carlin - Euphemistic Language

A euphemism is the substitution of an agreeable or inoffensive expression for one that may offend or suggest something unpleasant; such as using "eliminate" as a euphemism for "kill," or using "post-traumatic stress disorder" as a euphemism for "shell shock." The favorite tool of the high priests of political correctness, besides suppression of free speech, intimidation tactics through insinuations to "hatred" or "racism" or "xenophobia" if you dare resist their control.

George Denis Patrick Carlin (May 12, 1937 -- June 22, 2008)... may he rest in peace.
